A Stay-cation Drink Sensation for Role Mommy

Beth from Role Mommy – sit back and relax! You’ve Been Spotted! Beth is a busy mom who provides celebrity interviews and book reviews for all Moms On-The-Go. Role Mommy is dedicated to inspiring, entertaining and informing today’s busy moms. And when you’re a Mom on-the-go – a cocktail or even a mock-tail may be in order.

The tall old fashioned zombie glasses really help to set the mood. If you aren’t able to find zombie glasses in a store or online – any glass will do. Simply wrap the glass with any type of tropical foliage such as calathea, cordyline tips, or ti leaves. All of these leaves can easily be cut to size using everyday scissors. Tie a few strands of raffia around the leaf to secure it to the glass. For an extra WOW factor you can slip a mini orchid into the raffia!

Keep the South Pacific vibes going by making a traditional Bali Hai cocktail (recipe below). Some other fun and tropical looking cocktail choices are:

Tequila Sunrise
Sex on the Beach (although this just seems a little weird to give your Mom on Mother’s Day!)
Mimosa
Tropical Punch

Bali Hai Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients:
2 oz. rum
1 oz. brandy
2 oz. fresh lime juice
2 oz. fresh lemon juice
1 tsp orgeat syrup (a bitter almond flavored syrup)
1 tsp grenadine syrup
Fill with champagne

Put all ingredients except the champagne in a cocktail shaker with cracked ice and shake well. Pour into “zombie” style glasses and top off with champagne.

More On-the-Go Moms coming up this week! If you haven’t already, enter a Mom you know in the Spotlight a Mom contest – she could win a Beaches Vacation.

What a way to have a delicious drink, I’ll be serving them at my Mother’s day brunch, along with the orchid candle centerpeice.
