Spotted: Red Carpet Mom – Audrey from Mom Generations
Today’s spotted Mom is Audrey McClelland from the blog Mom Generations. In honor of Audrey, a woman who has gone from the world of high fashion in New York City, to raising four boys in Rhode Island, I present my version of a vintage handbag.
I hope that this floral handbag will speak to Audrey’s sense of style and her two worlds – family and fashion. The handbag relates to the world of fashion and the pink roses symbolize the perfect happiness she has in her life now. What better way to play dress up?
Q&A with Audrey McClelland from Mom Generations
What is the greatest lesson your mom has taught you?
The greatest lesson my mother ever taught me was to always believe in my dreams. Throughout my childhood, my mother used to always tell me to imagine what I want to be…and go after it. She taught me never to question my dreams, believe in them and go after them. That advice has always lived within me, every single day. As a student, as an athlete and as a mother, I’ve kept this lesson in my mind. I’m teaching my own children the same lesson.
What’s one lesson you hope to pass on to your children?
I hope to pass on to my children the beauty of believing in their dreams. Children are so amazing… they want to be anything and everything. My oldest son (I have 4 of them), he’s 5… he wants to be (and I quote) “a cooker” someday. I love that he wants to be something, that he tells people and actually invents recipes. I love to foster this in him and watch him get excited about it. It’s a beautiful thing to see.
What’s your favorite Mother’s Day memory?
My favorite Mother’s Day memory is from last year. It was the first time I wasn’t pregnant or trying to get pregnant. I was with my 4 sons, and we just had a “nothing” day. We didn’t have any set plans. I loved that day and have the most beautiful memories of it, because it was the first time I felt true and utter contentment. I felt blessed and very, very lucky to have all my guys!

Awesome interview. Children are so ambitious, it’s important for us parents to keep encouraging them especially as they get older. Nothing days are the best!
